Application Assistor

Application Assistor/Outreach Worker

Temporary Full Time (M-F 8am-4:30pm)

Assist community residents in completing eligibility and application packets for the Healthy Families and expanded Medi-Cal programs and maintaining healthcare insurance.  Provide outreach to Medi-Cal eligible women residing in the North San Diego County area to aid them in the Medi-Cal application process, as well as in accessing prenatal care.

Requirements:  High school graduate or equivalent with one year experience working in a community clinic setting.  Healthy Families Certified Application Assistor (CAA) or experience assisting/completing applications for Healthy Families, Medi-Cal and other types of Medi-Cal-related paperwork.  Minimum six months experience in the customer service or social service fields, or in community volunteer work.  Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation and current vehicle insurance.  Knowledge of prenatal information, community prenatal services and the Medi-Cal process preferred.

Application Assistor/Retention  Spec.

Temporary Full Time (M-F 8am-5pm) SCHEDULED TO END JUNE 30, 2010

Assist community residents in completing eligibility and application packets for the Healthy Families and expanded Medi-Cal programs and maintaining healthcare insurance.  Provide outreach to Medi-Cal eligible women residing in the North San Diego County area to aid them in the Medi-Cal application process, as well as in accessing prenatal care. Conduct follow-up on initial application to agencies, at specified intervals, to ensure patients are enrolled and utilizing insurance.

Requirements:   High school graduate or equivalent with one year experience working in a community clinic setting.  Healthy Families Certified Application Assistor (CAA) or experience assisting/completing applications for Healthy Families, Medi-Cal and other types of Medi-Cal-related paperwork preferred; must be willing to attain certification if not certified.  Minimum six months experience in the customer service or social service fields, or in community volunteer work.  Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation and current vehicle insurance.  Knowledge of prenatal information, community prenatal services and the Medi-Cal process preferred.  Ability to reach, bend, climb, stoop and lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
